Dr. Terry Lanford has been a dedicated member of the Board of Directors at Chosen Children Ministries since 2012, currently serving as Board Chairman and Executive Director. With a deep passion for both ministry and leadership, Dr. Lanford has leveraged his background in pastoral service, business management, and executive leadership to guide the organization’s mission and vision. Dr. Lanford holds an MBA from Clemson University and a Doctor of Ministry (DMIN) degree from North Greenville University.

Dr. Thomas Bruns has been an active board member with Chosen Children Ministries since 1996. He currently resides in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and is currently an attending emergency room physician at the local Children’s Hospital trauma center. He believes that “CCM has been given a great opportunity to spread the gospel and Love of Jesus Christ to the people of Nicaragua. What we do now for the Lord will last for eternity, storing up treasures in heaven.”

Tommye Hammel is a charter member of the Board of Directors at Chosen Children Ministries. Tommye puts emphasis on knowing and living God’s word as the foundation for leading and growing ministry. She was on staff with Precept Ministries for over forty years learning to lead and serve from the Bible.

Charles Estes has served on the Chosen Children Ministries Board of Directors since 2005.  He and his wife have made approximately 40 trips to Nicaragua with CCM.   Charles is retired from the Georgia Institute of Technology where he worked in their economic development and industry consulting services departments.  He holds a BS in Industrial Engineering from Auburn University and an MBA from the University of South Carolina.  He and his wife are members of Johnson Ferry Baptist Church in Marietta, GA.

Tonya Jones has been a member of the Board of Chosen Children Ministries since 2023, bringing her lifelong passion for teaching and discipleship to the organization. With a diverse background in both secular and ministry roles, Tonya began her career as a reading specialist and coach, dedicating 15 years to helping struggling students improve their reading skills. Her calling to ministry led her to serve in various capacities within churches, where she excelled in leading, teaching, directing, and training others. Currently, Tonya serves as the Director of Biblical Counseling Training Center, where she not only counsels individuals but also trains others in the art of counseling.  Tonya holds a Master’s in Education with a Specialization in Reading and a Master of Divinity focused on Ministry to Women. In addition, she has earned a Certification in Biblical Counseling from the Association of Certified Biblical Counseling. With her rich educational background and extensive experience, Tonya is committed to empowering others through effective counseling and discipleship.

Rev. Mark Evans serves as Pastor of Wolf Pond Baptist Church in Pageland, South Carolina.  He joined the Board of Directors for Chosen Children Ministries in 2023.  Mark was first introduced to Chosen Children Ministries in 2009 as a member of one of our mission teams and has had a passion for serving the people of Nicaragua ever since. His heart is for making disciples and strengthening the church by leading people to love, follow and serve our Lord, Jesus Christ.  He passionately believes in the mission of Chosen Children Ministries serving the spiritual and physical needs of the people. However, he considers the lasting impact on the lives of those who serve with the ministry as perhaps the greatest work that Chosen Children Ministries facilitates.  Mark has been in Christian ministry in full and part-time roles for over 30 years.
